Helping Steampunk decide what to sound like since 2017
the steam powered radio available from here
(ok so it's not strictly steam powered and not strictly a radio)
Tales of Sage and Savant
Music has a bit of a Jazzy feel. Taken from a comedy steampunk podcast apparently.
Tales of the Unknown
"Mad Mad World," is a slightly scratchy sounding country romp
Tankarville
For a band with an EP called "Tesla," it is perhaps apt that they have something of an OMD sound about them. Very good atmosppheric synth instrumentals
Teapot of Swamp Gods
Atmospheric Russian steampunk which I am going to award a fistful of cogs to despite current hostilities.
Technomantis
Very nice dance beats with a bit of strings. Very nice but struggling to find the top hats or goggles.
Tension Tango
Argentinian band that tag themselves as Prog and Metal amongst other things but play gypsy style folk.
Terrell, Charlie and the Murdered Johns
Swamprock, meets rockabilly and American Gothic. Terrell had some links with Lemmy according to Bancamp.
Thy Last Drop
Slightly jewish feeling folk of the macabre variety. Can't fault them. Could be Voltaire or even the mighty Newcranes.
Tiger Lillies
Slightly ska feeling musical cabaret possibly with Miss Piggy on vocals
Tillet, Nathan John
Quite space rock. Elements of Hawkwind. 70s metal overlays almost a soft Motorhead which would fit in with the "Silver Machine," thing. "Eternaeon," is for charity so we will let that go
Totentanz
you may have to bear with me on this one...
Totter
Not really sure how to describe this. A slightly modern jazz slacker kind of thing. Elements of apocalyptic folk and I keep being reminded of Nickelback
Toy-Box Trio
This is proper steampunk, music box cabaret from Seattle with an accordion which covers pretty much everything for me. 5 cogs
Tragic Tantrum, the
Kind of Gothy Dresden Dolls stuff
Trickster Seeds
Nice introductive narrative that could be a canned sit com or could be Dickens before going into decent banjo driven Americana. As I may have said elsewhere this doesn't quite feel right to me but it should because I love vintage country I just can't see it wearing goggles. Has quite English folk sensibilities at times.
Truax, Thomas
"Sonic Dreamer," was released on my Birthday some years ago now. Quite British sounding but imagine Voltaire came from Camden.
Tyberg, David
Banjo wielding outing for a member of "The Extraordinary Contraptions." Kind of Billy Bragg feel, if he played a banjo
